Policies

Listing policy

Who can be listed on Farm to Fork SK, and how we keep listings accurate.

Who can be listed

Farm to Fork SK lists Saskatchewan food and farm producers who sell to the public — meat, eggs, produce, honey, baked goods, CSAs and farm stands. A farm selling crafts alongside food is fine. We don't list resellers of non-local goods or non-food businesses.

Regulated products

Some categories are flagged as regulated because Saskatchewan and federal rules limit how they can be sold direct to consumers — for example, raw milk cannot be sold in Canada, and meat generally needs to go through an inspected process before resale. A regulated category always goes through a manual review before a listing publishes, regardless of how confident the automated check is.

Categories currently flagged as regulated: bison and other game meat, and dairy and cheese. This list is reviewed against current Saskatchewan Ministry of Agriculture guidance and may change.

Descriptions are factual

Listing descriptions describe what a business sells and how to buy from them. They don't make health claims, and they don't include reviews or ratings.

Accuracy and evidence

Where a listing is built from public information rather than submitted by the owner, every published fact is checked against a public source, and that source is kept on file. Claiming a listing lets the business correct anything that's out of date.

Removal

Any business can ask to be removed. A verified owner request is removed immediately; an unverified request is reviewed manually. Once a business is verified-removed, we don't relist it from public information again.
