If you’ve visited Farm to Fork SK over the last few months, you may have noticed things were quiet. That’s because we were rebuilding the whole site, and it’s now live.

The goal is the same one we started with: make local Saskatchewan food easy to find, straight from the people who grow and raise it. What’s changed is how well the site does that, for shoppers and for producers.

Why we went quiet

The old site worked, but it got in the way. Every listing went through us by hand, so updates were slow. Changing a listing cost $100, so a lot of them went out of date. Listing a farm needed a Saskatchewan business number, which many small producers don’t have. And the listings loaded in a way that search engines couldn’t always read, so people searching for local food often didn’t find them.

Rather than patch it, we started over.

What’s different now

  • Free listings. Listing your farm or food business is free, and so is updating it. The $100 update fee is gone.
  • Owners edit their own listings. Once a farm claims its listing, the owner can change products, how to buy, contact details and photos whenever they like.
  • No business number needed. If you sell food you grow, raise or make in Saskatchewan, you can list.
  • A bigger, faster map. Find a producer shows every listing on one map, with filters for what they sell and how they sell it, plus “Near me”.
  • Better search. Search by product, farm name or town.
  • The Verified badge. Listings marked “Verified” are run by the farm itself and kept up to date by the owner.
  • Farmers markets. Markets are getting their own pages on the map, with their hours, location and the vendors who sell there. They’re coming this fall.

How listings are built

Some listings are added by producers themselves. Others we’ve added from information the business already shares publicly, like its website or Facebook page. Those are marked “Listed from public info” until the owner claims them.

Locations are shown at the town level unless the owner chooses to place an exact pin, and we never show private contact details. You can read more in our listing policy.

For producers: claim or list free

Your farm might already be on the map. Search for your business name and claim the listing. It’s free, and once it’s yours, you can keep it up to date yourself.

Not listed yet? Add your business. It takes a few minutes. If you’d like more, Premium adds a logo, a photo gallery, more contact methods and an “Available now” note for $79 a year plus GST and PST, but the free listing stays free.

Already selling on Facebook? Here’s how a listing and your Facebook page work together.

For farmers markets: list or claim your market free

If you run a farmers market, your market can have its own page: hours, location, contact details and the vendors who sell there. Vendors can add your market to their own listings, so your page fills in as they do. List or claim your market for free.

What’s next

Over the coming months we’re adding more Saskatchewan producers, and getting farmers markets set up for the 2027 season. Subscribe to get new articles by email, or follow us on Facebook and Instagram.
